University of Sharjah

AdvancingComputingTogether.

A student-led chapter creating opportunities to learn, build, connect and contribute to computing at the University of Sharjah, while shaping tomorrow’s digital community.

01Chapter

Computing is more
than a classroom.

Mission

Advance computing as a science and a profession, foster innovation, and give students the space to develop technical skill, leadership and a professional network.

  • 01

    Learn beyond the syllabus.

Workshops, technical sessions and shared knowledge that go well past the syllabus.

  • 02

    Build things that run.

Projects, competitions and practical work where theory finally turns into something that runs.

  • 03

    Connect with the field.

Students, faculty, speakers and industry professionals, in the same room far more often.

Three pillars — one chapter

03Practice

What the chapter actually does.

  • Hands-on sessions on tooling, languages, frameworks and engineering practice — run by students, for students.

  • Talks from faculty, researchers and practitioners on where computing is actually heading.

  • Programming contests and hackathons that put pressure, teamwork and deadlines on the table.

  • Focused deep-dives into topics the classroom moves past too quickly.

  • Gatherings that make a computing degree feel less like an individual sport.

  • CV clinics, interview practice and guidance on internships and early careers.

05People

The people that are
behind the chapter.

An elected student board, a set of working leads and a faculty advisor keep the chapter running from term to term. Everything published here is organised by role, not by hierarchy for its own sake.

Build something. Learn something. Meet someone.
